Notarization & Witnessing Services in Ontario

Need a document commissioned, sworn, or witnessed? NotaryServe provides professional Notary Public and Commissioner of Oaths services across Ontario. We help individuals and businesses meet legal requirements for court, government applications, and international use.

🛑 Crucial Rule: Do Not Sign Yet!

To be legally valid, your document must be signed in the physical or virtual presence of our Notary. If you sign beforehand, the document will be invalid, and you will need to reprint it for your appointment.

1. Affidavits & Oaths

An affidavit is a written statement of facts confirmed by an oath or affirmation. We specialize in the most common Ontario-specific affidavits:

  • OSAP Affidavits: Official declarations for student loan applications, including income verification, single-parent status, and marital status updates.
  • Vehicle Transfer (Family Gift): We notarize the "Sworn Statement for a Family Gift of a Used Vehicle" required by ServiceOntario to waive retail sales tax.
  • Affidavits of Execution: Necessary for the probate of Wills and Powers of Attorney to prove that witnesses were present during the original signing.
  • Affidavits of Service & Identity: Used in Ontario court proceedings (Rules of Civil Procedure) or for professional identity verification for regulated industries.
  • Common-Law Declarations: Legal proof of relationship for insurance coverage, immigration sponsorship, or pension beneficiary designations.
  • Custodianship Declarations: Mandatory notarized forms (IMM 5646) for international minor students studying in Canada.

2. Statutory Declarations

Statutory declarations are used when a person needs to assert the truth of a fact for legal purposes outside of a court setting.

  • Passport Applications (PPTC 132 & 326): We act as a witness for "Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor" and declarations regarding lost, stolen, or damaged travel documents.
  • Letters of Invitation: Notarized support letters for friends or family members applying for a Canadian Visitor Visa.
  • Travel Consent Letters: Strongly recommended for children travelling abroad with only one parent or a legal guardian to prevent border delays.
  • Construction Industry Forms: Commissioning of CCDC documents, progress payment draws, and statutory declarations for construction liens.
